Privacy policy
This policy is written to meet India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025, together with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it. Where we say "we", "us" or "Lime Digital", we mean Lime Digital Institute. Where we say "you", we mean any visitor, enquirer, student, parent, business owner or alumnus whose data we handle.
01Who we are
Lime Digital Institute is a digital marketing training institute based in Rajkot, Gujarat, India. We run classroom and online courses, including the Foundation Track and the Advanced Track, for students, working professionals and business owners.

- To meet legal duties: tax, accounting and audit records, and responses to lawful requests from authorities.
- To keep things safe: prevent spam, fraud and misuse of our website and systems.
We do not use your data for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
05Consent and legal basis
We process your personal data on one of two grounds allowed by the DPDP Act:
- Your consent, which you give when you submit a form, tick a box or accept cookies. Consent is free, specific, informed and unambiguous, and limited to the purpose shown at the time.
- Certain legitimate uses under Section 7 of the Act, for example when you voluntarily share your details for a stated purpose and have not said you object, or when we must keep records to comply with law.
Withdrawing consent
You can withdraw consent as easily as you gave it: reply STOP on WhatsApp, use the unsubscribe link in any email, block or delete cookies in your browser as described in the cookie policy, or write to us at the address in section 16. Withdrawal does not affect processing already done, and we may still keep records the law requires.
06Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We share it only with service providers (Data Processors) who work on our behalf under contract, and only what they need.
| Partner | Purpose | Data shared |
|---|---|---|
| Zoho (CRM, Forms and Campaigns) | Managing enquiries, admissions and email updates | Contact, course interest, communication history |
| Google (Analytics, Ads, Tag Manager, Workspace, YouTube) | Website analytics, ad measurement, email, class videos | Cookie identifiers, usage data, contact details for email |
| Meta (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp Business) | Ads, lead forms, ad measurement, messaging | Cookie identifiers, lead form entries, phone number and chats |
| Payment partners (banks, UPI apps and payment gateways) | Collecting fees securely | Name, contact, amount; card and UPI data stay with the gateway |
| Website hosting | Running our website and forms | Form entries, technical logs |
| Hiring partners | Placement support | CV and contact, only after you opt in for each opportunity |
| Chartered accountant and auditors | Tax and statutory compliance | Invoice and payment records |
We may also disclose data when required by law, a court order or a government authority, or to protect the rights, safety and property of Lime Digital, our students or the public.
07Calls, WhatsApp and email
By sharing your number on our forms, you allow our counselling team to call you and message you on WhatsApp about your enquiry, even if your number is registered on the National Do Not Call (DND) registry. This permission covers your enquiry only.
- We send promotional messages only to people who agreed to receive them.
- Reply STOP on WhatsApp, or use the unsubscribe link in emails, to stop promotional messages.
- Calls with our counselling team may be recorded for quality and training. We will tell you at the start of the call.
- Students are added to batch WhatsApp groups for class updates. Other members of a group can see your number; tell us if you would rather receive updates one-to-one.
08Photos, videos and reviews
We sometimes take photos or videos at classes, events and campus visits, and share student work, reviews and success stories on our website and social media.
- We ask for your written consent before using your name, face, voice, work or review in marketing.
- You can ask us to remove your content at any time. We will take it down from our own website and active accounts; we cannot recall copies that others have already shared.
- Reviews you post on Google or other public platforms are governed by those platforms' terms.
09How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as the purpose needs it, then delete or anonymise it.
| Data | Retention period |
|---|---|
| Enquiries that did not lead to admission | Up to 24 months from last contact, or until you ask us to delete |
| Student and alumni records (enrolment, certificates) | For as long as needed to verify your certificate, typically up to 10 years after course completion |

| Marketing preferences | Until you withdraw consent or unsubscribe |
| Placement CVs | 24 months from your last placement request |

| Security and access logs | At least 1 year, as required by the DPDP Rules, 2025 |
Where we plan to erase data because you have not engaged with us for a long period, we will give you notice before doing so, as the DPDP Rules require.
10How we protect it
We use reasonable security safeguards, in line with the DPDP Rules and the IT (Reasonable Security Practices) Rules, 2011, including:
- HTTPS encryption across the website and forms;
- role-based access, so team members see only what their work needs;
- two-factor authentication on our CRM, email and ad accounts;
- regular backups, software updates and access reviews;
- confidentiality commitments from staff and contracts with data processors.
If something goes wrong
No system is perfectly secure. If a personal data breach occurs, we will inform affected users and the Data Protection Board of India as required by law, explain what happened, and tell you the steps you can take to protect yourself.

12Children's data
Our courses are designed for adults. Under Indian law, anyone under 18 is a child. If someone under 18 wishes to enrol, we collect and process their data only with verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian, who must complete the admission form with them.
- We do not run behavioural tracking or targeted advertising directed at children.
- We do not use a child's photos or reviews in marketing without a parent's written consent.
- If we learn we collected a child's data without proper consent, we will delete it promptly.
13Transfers outside India
Some of our service providers, such as Google, Meta and Zoho, may store or process data on servers outside India. Such transfers follow the DPDP Act and any restrictions notified by the Government of India, and we choose providers that offer strong security and contractual protections.
14Third-party links
Our website links to and embeds content from other services, such as YouTube videos, Google Maps and social media profiles. When you interact with them, those services may collect data under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to read them.
15Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, tools or the law change. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest version. If a change significantly affects how we use your data, we will notify you by email, WhatsApp or a notice on the website, and ask for fresh consent where required.
